Wastewater Management
Cities can manage outdoor usage and thus reduce water loss through installing sensors tracking rainfall, humidity, soil composition, topography, temperature, and sunlight. Combining this data with information about the landscape and weather forecasts enables city management to make smarter decisions on irrigation. Acquiring data on water levels in pipes can reduce the amount lost due to leakage and prevent new leaks. Water pressure can be controlled by embedding sensors in water pipes throughout the distribution network and connecting them to pump control systems.
